Looking for current info on whether the trail near the Falls and Margaret Lake are snowy or icy.
Thanks

The map actually stated that the trail is closed to 4X4's from Sept. 1 - Oct 31 not quads. Yellow-biggrin Sorry Ron, no ones from the clubs been up there since Sept long.

No, you are reading it wrong. The trail is closed to all motorized users. Trust me, or phone SRD and ask......

If you call SRD they do say that the trail is closed to all motorized vehicles, but the map only states closed to 4X4 use from Sept 1 - Oct 30. SRD needs to update the map. We looked into this issue at the meeting last night and the map is wrong...unfortunatley not all will phone SRD for an update.

So here is the section of the map with the legend on it. Purple dashed line is the one in question and it does say that it is closed to 4x4s but just above that it defines 4x4s as trucks , jeeps, quads, snowmobiles. So has this map been corrected then or is it still wrong? I thought we could always go there on quads all year long...

Your right John. Thanks for clarifying that, guess I should read a bit closer. Waiparous Falls are closed until Sunday. LOL

thanks for the clarifications. I will be careful next year not to plan any trips to the Falls in the Fall.

If someone is out there on Sunday, could they advise on ice conditions on the hills please

Like I said... It is just confusing the way they wrote it.

It is a 4x4 trail (Trucks, quads, bikes, snowmobiles) and it [strike]is [/strike] was closed.....

Road to Margaret Lake and W. Falls from camp howard on nov 3.
ice on east and north slopes of hills to Margaret lake from WP 129
about 8 or 9 inches of snow on the last 1 km into the Falls
Skiboats old 589 studded tires worked great on the ice.
