Unique communication system aims to increase ORV safety
For the first time, ORV riders can use a device to monitor oncoming traffic and send distress signals
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. July 19, 2006 – The off-road vehicle (ORV) industry may soon be able to report better safety figures thanks to the debut of the industry’s first ORV-to-ORV collision avoidance and situational awareness device called the PLD™ (Proximity Location Device). The PLD™ uses previously undiscovered resources within the global communications network to provide a total communications system for ORV riders that, until now, hadn’t existed.
