'LOFT-IT' Garage Storage Solution
Posted by CanadianViking on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 (18:49:07) (3596 reads)
We have had many discussions here at ATVF regarding storage options for our ATVs.
I mentioned this dilemma to one of the owners of GARAGE BOYZ, a company that specializes in custom garage solutions.
Using his industry contacts he was able to source a storage solution specifically designed for ATVs (and all other powersports). The product is called 'Loft-It' and you can find information (including a video) on the product HERE.
The product can be purchased through their ONLINE STORE and installation can be arranged for buyers in the Calgary, Alberta area.
For anyone who is tight on garage space or has more than one toy to store, this is going to be a great solution and a welcome option to reclaim valuable real estate in their garage.

Frontier Trails Contest
Posted by CanadianViking on Friday, February 03, 2006 (21:19:10) (509 reads)
We are pleased to announce the latest contest here at ATV Frontier.
The theme for this contest is something new and exciting and the contest entries will be interesting and usable by all ATVF members.
To enter this contest you need to submit a description of your favourite ATV trail. The trail description should be written with enough detail that someone who is unfamiliar with the area could use your description to navigate the trail. Trail descriptions can include such useful information as GPS coordinates, photographs, maps, town descriptions, etc..
You can read the complete contest details HERE.

Who is responsible for you?
Posted by CanadianViking on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 (00:18:10) (487 reads)
MickDMouse posted an excellent thread in our Outpost forum titled "Who is responsible for you?". Attached is an abridged version of the thread:
...The short version of a long story is that a group of riders were out for the day when one of them was injured. The injury was fairly severe and so the group needed to get their friend to a hospital ASAP. One thing led to another and the group managed to get lost resulting in the trip to the hospital taking longer than it should have taken.
...Let me make this perfectly clear. It is your responsibility to take care of yourself. Always. Not just when you are out riding your ATV. But especially when you are out riding your ATV you need to be capable of dealing with emergencies. If you ride with other people then you ALSO take on the responsibility to take care of them in an emergency. I find it incredibly ironic that many people want unlimited freedom to come and go as they please, use public land at will, but are always on the lookout for a scapegoat to take the blame for their actions.
Please take a moment to read and comment on the entire thread in our OUTPOST FORUM

New Members Map feature for ATV Frontier
Posted by Ronin on Saturday, January 07, 2006 (23:51:38) (1489 reads)
ATVF now has a Members Map module using Google Maps technology to let members post their locations. Features Include:
- You can zoom in and out and drag the map around to get to your location then simply clicking on the map will let you enter your position.
- Clicking on a marker lets you see a member's profile information.
- Allows you to update your profile's location field with your GPS coords and a link to Google Maps showing where you are at. Simply click "Update Profile Location" once you've placed your location on the map. This will show up beneath your avatar in every forum post.
- You can zoom directly to your position by clicking the "Zoom to Your Location" button.
- You can navigate around the map using your keyboards arrow keys and +/- for zooming in and out.
- If you already have your GPS coords you can enter them in degrees minutes and seconds or decimal degrees notation by pressing the "Manually Enter/Update Your Location" button.
Looking forward to see where we are all from. Access it via the "Members Map" link on the left menu under community.

Kymco Mongoose 250 Review
Posted by Ronin on Monday, January 31, 2005 (20:48:30) (2055 reads)
Yet another great review by ATVF's very own Doc & Wildcard. This time they look at the Kymco Mongoose 250.
We've had a lot of fun testing this quad. It sports the aggressive styling associated with today's sport quads, lightweight (but tough) aluminum wheels, Kenda Klaw XCR 6 ply tires, yes, 6 ply tires!, 249cc liquid-cooled four stroke motor, strong CVT transmission with reverse, and hydaulic disc brakes all the way around. This quad is an excellent choice for the beginning rider!
