ELKA SYSTEM 3 STEERING DAMPER
REVIEW

First Impressions and Installation:
Many view steering dampers as necessities for racing and high performance applications in the MX (ATV and Motorcycle racing) and the street bike racing arena. This misconception hinders many enthusiasts the use and benefit they can provide for many different types of use for utility ATV applications. Especially considering with more and more manufacturers introducing power / electronic assisted steering units to the market which makes for some interesting comparison and myth busting. These myths and questions many enthusiasts want answered is what I am hoping to achieve .................

Maxxis Mud Bug Radial Tire Reivew
Posted by Weasel on Saturday, June 07, 2008 (02:20:49) (1659 reads)
The areas that I ride most include the foothills of the Canadian Rockies outside of Calgary, Alberta, logging trails in the mountains above the North Okanagan of British Columbia, and at on the beach at our cabin on Mara Lake, BC. I ride 12 months of the year, and as such, require a tire that is suitable to handle all types of weather and trail conditions. From dusty hard pack, to gravel, loose shale, beach sand, jagged rocks, muskeg, mud, snow, slush, ice, fallen logs, tree roots, grassland, and everything in between, these are the conditions that I encounter at times throughout the year. My tires have to be as suitable as possible for all of these conditions.

Kolpin Saw Press II review
Posted by CanadianViking on Friday, March 14, 2008 (14:59:56) (811 reads)
One of the great features of Side-by-Side utility vehicles is their ability to carry out a wide variety of tasks. While most of us are using UTVs for recreational use, UTVs are becoming extremely popular for dedicated tasks such as search & rescue and trail maintenance....
When it came to equipping our Rhino, we knew we wanted to add a chainsaw. Chainsaws are an amazing trail maintenance tool (along with a shovel). Deciding on which chainsaw to go with wasn’t easy – there are many excellent manufacturers and lots to choice available to the consumer. We’ve always been fans of Husqvarna chainsaws based on their excellent quality and customer support....
Having decided on our chainsaw, we turned our attention to finding a means to haul/carry the tool. By their very design, chainsaws are awkward to carry and can take up a lot of space on your ATV rack or UTV bed. We wanted to find a storage solution that would keep the saw secure and out of the way, but also easy and convenient to access. Having already had excellent luck with their FUEL PACK, we decided to see what KOLPIN had to offer in way of a chainsaw carrier.
Since 1943 Kolpin has been developing high quality, innovative products for the outdoors enthusiast. Kolpin Powersports is one of the pioneers of ATV & UTV accessories and they offer a wide selection of accessories ranging from basket racks to gun boots. For 2007 they released their new Saw Press II Bracket. The Saw Press II is an evolution of their highly successful original Saw Press and is being offered in two versions; ATV mount (model 20044) and UTV mount (model 200429). Since this was intended to be mounted on our Yamaha Rhino, we decided on the UTV mount version. Kolpin accessories can be ordered through most dealers and distributors or directly from Kolpin via their online store.

Dry Storage Bazooka
Posted by CanadianViking on Friday, March 14, 2008 (14:59:30) (765 reads)
When ATVing, one thing you can never have too much of is dry storage. Most of us add boxes or bags to our front or rear racks and most ATVs come with some sort of storage compartment. While these items provide storage, true “dry storage” is much harder to achieve.
With basic tools and supplies from your local hardware store you can build your own dry “Storage Bazooka”. These tubes are tough, completely water proof and easy to mount to your ATV (or side x side).
If you are looking for a dry storage solution for your ATV or Side x Side, the “Storage Bazooka” is an effective, inexpensive and fun way to build your own dry storage.
