If you use a GPS while riding in SW Alberta and SE British Columbia, Canada, you should checkout gadzuk's addition to our downloads. A very handy Waypoint List that matches the markers you'll see on the trails. Its in Ozi Explorer format. Thanks Gadzuk!

ATV Trails Why ATVs belong in the backcountry

Parks and protected areas in Canada are off limits to motorized recreational users. The backcountry in those parks is reserved for our woodland creatures and for the exclusive use of the young and healthy who are still able to carry their needs in a backpack.

ATV Trails Southern Alberta/BC Fireban in Effect

A fireban is in effect for a large portion of Southern Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. So be careful when you are out on the trails. Don't help a fire get started and don't get caught by one. See here for details on the Alberta side.

ATV Trails Bad News For ATV'ing in Texas

Starting September 3rd 2003: "legislation to close all Texas river beds and flood plains to motorized access except for adjacent land owners and their assignees. These river beds are about the only public land recreation opportunities available for many Texans, and use of these areas is part of the custom and culture of Texas".
