ATV Illustrated has posted a review of the CAn-Am DS450:

The 450 segment is one of the hottest in the ATV market, and recently the temperature just got cranked up another ten degrees. For years, we’ve heard rumors that Can-Am has been working on something, the stories ranging from a hot two-stroke to a 450 four-stroke. Although these stories caused a lot of excitement, we were actually wondering if all this excitement was warranted. Would this new model be a downsized DS650, or would it be based on some of BRP’s (Can-Am’s parent company) leading-edge snowmobile design and technology? Can-Am likes to stay pretty tight-lipped, so we really didn’t have any concrete information on the 450 until we actually landed in Tennessee for the product intro. When we finally saw what we had flown down to ride, our jaws literally hit the carpet on the ballroom floor—the DS450 is not a downsized DS650, nor does it have anything in common with the 650 other than the DS moniker. Simply put, the DS450 is the most technologically advanced 450 on the market, with goods ranging from a complete aluminum frame (without a single weld) to fuel injection to more aluminum parts than any other 450 in the class. Can-Am spent the last seven years designing, building and refining this project to bring you the product you see here today. As you’ll soon see, Can-Am did not follow others into the class—it thought outside of the box and dove into the lead head first!

ATV Scene has posted an early ride review of the Can-Am DS450:

It was a month ago when we took 11-Time National Champion, Jackie Meadows to I-81 Speedway in Greenville, TN to ride Can-Am's 2007 Line Up, which included their new DS450. Jackie, anxious as a little kid on Christmas morning, would have his way with each of Can-Am's models, but getting the DS450-scoop was our main mission.

Ride tests make up a big portion of ATV Scene and we feel it's important to maintain our unbiased say-it-like-it-is impression of each and every ATV we test, so choosing the right test rider would be critical, especially when it came to this particular mind-boggling high-tech race-worthy performer. Legendary Jackie Meadows has a lifetime of ATV knowledge under his belt, he's pretty much retired from ATV racing, has no commitments to anyone in the ATV industry and remains in excellent shape. All this adds up to the ideal test rider. With Jackie by our side, we were more than prepared to get the low down on this interesting new machine.
