News › BC's Southern Rocky Mountain Management Plan Approved

Approval of the BC's Southern Rocky Mountain Management Plan (SRMMP) was announced today by the Honourable Stan Hagen, Minister of Sustainable Resource Management.

The updated recreation maps are posted at:
http://srmwww.gov.bc.ca/kor/srmmp/toc.htm under section 7.1.
Implementation, refinement and monitoring of the Plan will occur through the Southern Rocky Mountain Advisory Committee (SRMAC) to be established by the Ministry in the coming weeks. Terms of reference for this Committee are described in Appendix 4.0 of the Plan. The SRMAC will include First Nations, government, and stakeholders from sectors that have participated in, or are familiar with, the plan's development and that represent a diverse cross-section of interests.
We greatly appreciate the time and effort you gave to the planning process and hope you will continue to provide your input to the implementation and improvement of the SRMMP, and other planning initiatives in the future.
