BRP remains focused on powersports enthusiasts with its 2008 Can-Am ATVs

Valcourt, Québec, June 2, 2007 – BRP Can-Am™ is the ATV brand for enthusiasts. With its 2008 Can-Am line-up, BRP is poised to further strengthen this position with four new models aimed squarely at riders who enjoy riding on the track and on the trail.
Powered by the completely new Rotax® 4-TEC® 450cc engine, the Can-Am DS 450™ EFI model is no exception to BRP's rep. of taking a fresh approach when entering new market segments. From the front suspension to the rear axle, innovations are everywhere. Not the least of which is its advanced Altec aluminum frame, making the DS 450 the lightest 450cc sport ATV in its class.

Also new for 2008
• The Can-Am Renegade™ 500 H.O. EFI model, powered by a Rotax 4-TEC EFI V-twin engine, is joining the noted Renegade 800.
• The Can-Am DS 70™ and the redesigned DS 90™: two new youth full-featured models, with long-travel suspension, day lights, storage bin and bodywork reflecting the DNA of the DS 450 and Renegade models.
• For 2008, all Can-Am Outlander™ models receive upgrades, new multi-function gauge and rear fascia styling. Standard models are equipped with restyled painted steel wheels.

“With these new models, BRP continues to fulfill its commitment to reach out and attract true powersports enthusiasts,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president and general manager, Snowmobiles, Watercraft, Sport Boats and ATVs, BRP. "The DS 450 EFI embodies everything the Can-Am brand stands for – power handling, innovation, and cutting edge design. We are especially looking forward to its performance on the race track."

Smile Very Happy Happy
I have the new 2008 Outy Max 650 EFI XT -- Love It. -- I have had it up to 75 and It probably will go faster -- I did not Max it out. -- There is lots of pick-up & Power. The Passenger seat is very comfortable and the driver hardly knows that the passanger is there. I highly suggest Skid Plates and large back-up mirrors. I have found only 1 Problem -- See Below

I just completed the 10 HR. Check up on my new Outlander Max. A problem that I had which is now acnowleged as a Design Problem is the Sequencing Change Button on the Speedometer Display Panel. I had to push the button several times to go to the next display grouping...Quick Fix- There is a small magnet on the bottom of the switch.Take another small magnet, glue it to a 1/4" piece of wood or metal rod stock and press the magnet to the switch button. I use a telescoping magnet pickup tool in the compressed position to push the selecter button.
BHP / Can-Am has their Engineers designing a new switch. I believe that this also applies to the Outlander 800 as well. I hope this helps -- Can AM is also giving a 3 year Warranty with the Purchase -- this is what decided me.
