hi all,
the quality of the kymco winches i think is not up to std, i've had one fitted to my uxv for 8 months always worked perfect till lately. on pulling a rhino out of problem spot all well when i tried a 2nd time nothing dead.
on testing the unit it had burnt out, no warning no fuse burnt ,think i'll have a warn installed next time,
just makes one very fustrated
regards

Any warranty? Have you contacted Kymco for assistance?

out of warranty, i have asked kymco about it ??
i dont feel like fighting about it this time of the year
i removed the winch and fitted a nice recovery hook and bought a 5 ton elastic recovery rope should i need need it, thick its less issues to worry about

What size of a winch are you using? Just a tip if your going to go to a Warn. The synthetic winch rope works very well, however if you break it and it will. Warn recoments replaceing it. It's not cheap. It also freezes when it gets wet and cold. The steel cable might have it's down sides but I think it's easier to deal with.

I wouldn't go any smaller than a 3000 lb winch on the SXS or even a 3500 lb.
They do take a lot of torque to get themselfs out when stuck.
