Everytime I cross deep water my sportsman would take a drink in the clutch housing. I replaced the seal thinking that was the problem. I guess I wasn't in much water because everything was fine for the longest time. This past Thanksgiving when I was up North we had to cross a pond. Went across and sure enough the clutch started to slip. I took the screw out and dryed it out and evereything was fine for the rest of the trip. When I got home I had a real good look at the whole assembly and discovered that the rubber boot that connects the clutch housing to the plastic intake under the seat was cracked. That's where the water was getting in. It's a 3.00 part but plays a big part in keeping water out. The only way you can check it is to take the airbox out and take off the side panels. It's also tricky to get the clamp over the rubber boot which attaches to the housing. There's little room to slide the clamp down on lip.Now I can go as deep as the end of the intake allows. End of story. Have a nice life. Jamie

thats the outlet tube, mine had a hole for a x-mas tree clip that keeps it attached to the frame. I plugged it with sealant.
