No. I am talking about the post that was on "campfire" as of midnight last night titled "Enviro's at it again".

Somebody went way over the line with a real BS response, so I shut it down and moved it to the moderator's section.

BS responses that stoop as low as the one in question will lead to topics being shut down or moved, and users being banned.

Sorry one guy took the thread off the rails and ruined it for all. I did not think it was worth simply removing his post and leaving the topic live, as the same kinds of inappropriate responses might have appeared again.

The exact nature of the response and the "who done it" are not relevant.

Yammy

Perhaps it would have been better to leave the topic and edit the post in question and suspend that users account then to censor everyone else's comments and not let others participate.

Last time i looked, we are all big boys and girls here and should be able to deal with some *beep* posting something he shouldn't have. Let's not act like we have never seen a cuss word or that we are so fragile that the slightest thing will scar us for life. I know what was posted as i read it before you removed it, and i am not saying it was not out of line and should have been removed. What i am saying is that all should not suffer for the act of a few. Ban that person and lets get on with our day, we can do without the liberal "protecting us from ourselves" BS.

This is the same problem we have with ATV users and the enviro's that want to shut us out of the forests. One user acts like an ass and we are all to blame? This reaction was essentially the same as the enviro's.

Think before you act guys...

I think it was more conservative protectionism.

It's those terrible hooligan ATVer's that caused the whole thing. They should be banned.

Whenever we see BS that violates the TOU, we pull it, put in the mods section, review it as a group, decide what actions to take, and then act accordingly.

If you scan down the topics aways, you'll see the post has been cleaned up and put back into place - this was done after I had received confirmation the violator had been banned and would no longer contribute to the topic.

We never just delete an individual post that violates the TOU...a record is kept of it.

If your topic disappears for review and administrative intervention because someone took it off the rails and violated the TOU, blame the violator, not the moderators who are trying to maintain a family-friendly site.

I was thinking...for everyone's sake.

It sure as heII wasn't Liberal protectionism, right Fred? Wink

To be called a Liberal....wow, I've never been so stung in my life. It's gonna take weeks to wash that stink off me, no matter how false the accusation is. Laugh

That's what I like about you Tim, you can take my jibes in the spirit they were intended. I had also seen that post before it was deleted and agree it was over the top.
