does any one make a locker for the outlanders.

I was rock climbing and the front end squirled on me and caught and pulled me sideways , she wanted to roll right off of the rock, I almost bailed , a buddy caught the bike in time and pulled and lifted the rear end back in line.

any help would be great.

There are no aftermarket lockers to improve the old Visco-loc system.. The New 2010 Visco-loc QE is a big improvment over the old system though.

Tell you what, as SOON as one becomes available, or even the new viscoloc becomes available, I'm all over it.

Not sure if you have seen the 2010 Visco in action.. Seems to lock up really quick compaired to the older one.

Hi.

I believe that 2008...2010 models have a much improved visco-lok. Granted the 2009 & 10 are better.

However and before the 2008 line. It was difficult to use atv tracks on an outlander other than the BRP apache brand.

Since the tracks do not spin like a tire. The visco-lok engagement mean't one track was always lagging.

Although once you got moving the visco-lok did stay on for a long time.

The apache tracks are a cam spin up design which force the visco-lok to engage right away. Not to mention the apaches go much faster than a tatou or commander atv track system.

I find the tatou is the better product.

How does it steer under sharp corners?? Does it want to lock up when trail riding??

I tried the 2010 outlander 650 max.

I didn't feel all that much difference to my 08. However you do feel a tug around curves when the visco-lok engages.

However since the unit had power steering. The tug was less noticeable.

Educated guess that you would feel the tug more on the shorter (non-max) outlander.

The new QE does pull you out of the curve (at speed) better than my 08.

As for how much better, perhaps 20% give or take.

As for the power steering it is nice on large rocks and logs. However it is a little laggy is response when navigating slowly over or around something like a log bridge or narrow trail.

any body have any #'s on the $cost for a 2010 front end or gear or what ever makes that unit lock up quicker,

I have a 06 800,
this would be my last major mod.

I own an 07 gade, but I borrowed a 09 outlander for hunter. During the slow riding, the locker was much more obvious and useful on this newer model. I can't image how much nicer the '10 model would be - but I'd sure want power steering on it. The 09 seemed to be about perfect for non-ps; and I would love to upgrade my 07 to that system.
