When I had my 650 at the dealer last month for warranty work, I asked. I was told they have no pictures, the release date was put off because of the economy the way it is. I also heard the Rhino roll over recall & law suits put a damper on its release too.

So far the rumour mill is:
Possible 1200cc 3-cylinder from the MXZ 4tec (worst case scenario 800cc outlander engine)
release date fall 2010 (sneak peek in may 2010)
no pics, but is supposed to look like an off-road trophy truck.
Possibly two models - One that is more utility like a Rhino, and one that is sporty like a RZR. ( kinda like the Outlander - Renegade thing)
Most likely will have DPS power steering and TTI rear suspension.
Nicknamed the Invader
keep in mind this is pure speculation.

Semi official rumors from Valcourt.
A look like a cross between a Rhino and a GMC Hummer.
Rotax SA991 990 CC engine (from spider) with 100HP.
Suggested unvailing date of April or May 2010. Sale date of late August 2010.
SxS and not a UTV
To compete with the Polaris RZR on it's 4th or 5th anniversary .
A strange tactic for BRP. However ever since those two guys in New York bought a share in BRP . Things have been screwy at BRP.
I believe that it is this conflict between the Bodouin/Bombardier family and their US parteners is what's stalling the SXS.
The Spyder was rushed into sales and it had a rather large flaw.
Not standard practice for BRP to rush something.

I hear to release date spring 2010 and Rotax is building a new engine for it and that's what the hold up has been. The engine will be an 1100-1300 cc and BRP wanted to do some Winter testing on it and that's why the spring release date as well. The dealer said at 35 mph it can lift the front wheels. One thing is for sure, it will be one awesome SxS that's for sure!
That's what I have heard from a very good soure!

I heard from a very good source (the voices in my head) that BRP will be contracting out the engine department to Suzuki, looking at the same engine in the 1300cc Hyabusa, which produces +171 RWHP. The suspension will be handled by the same folks setting up and winning in the World Series Off-Road Racing (WSORR). Brakes are yet to be determined, but judging by the HP output, they will have to be able to stop tanks.
Interior design of the cabin will be luxurious, yet remain waterproof. 3M is currently in negotiations with BRP, doting 3M's new innovation "Rhino-skin" (for lack of a better term) that is 100% waterproof, tough and resistant to sun-bleaching.
Exterior design was the biggest concern and is still in the works. Design engineers wanted to make it lean and fast, yet roomy enough for the two occupants, so they've taken some design looks from the Ford SVT Truck series, combined with the Audi R8. More to come on this.
Sorry for the wisecracks - the voices were screaming to post on this one I'll be patient and wait and see.
