Anyone out there have a home-built snow plow set up? I'm in the middle of building one and would like to see pics of what your set up looks like. I'll post a few of mine as soon as I'm finished.

I finished my plow last week, here's how the plow is mounted to the quad.

Here's a few of the rest of the plow. Before you ask why it is so far out from the quad I did that so I could actually see the plow when seated on the machine. Also it does not pivot side to side, the route I take while plowing the sidewalks throws the snow off to the left which is what I want.

Have you used it yet? How wide is the actual blade? Really looks good John.

Thanks Fred. I just finished it up as the last bit of snow was melting. I'm waiting for the next snowfall...actually the best way to prevent snowfall is to invest time and money in building a plow or buying a snowblower. HA!

The reason I asked about the width, is because from the pic it looks narrower than your tires. That could cause problems. Also you may have to move the brackets on the plow. The cutting edge of the plow might need to be steeper. Too shallow and the plow will run up over the snow, too steep and it digs in too hard. Just a heads up.

It's actually 2 inches wider than the width of the quad. The plastic blade could be un-bolted and moved a bit either way within the brackets to change the blade angle if needed. Have to wait for some snow I guess.

Yup, just a matter of fine tuning it. I had that problem with mine. The plow rode up over the snow all the time. A grader operator clued me into the cutting edge angle.

Very nice setup there Mr. Stealth ... and those are gorgeous welds dude !! ... good thing ya made it so you can change the blade angle if needed. Cutt'in things up to "Adjust" something after the fact is no fun.

That's what I like to see is someone fabbing their own to suit . The ABS should work good . What is the heighth of the plow itself ? Keep us updated as to how she performs .

The blade is about 13" high. It's not very big but we don't have all that much snow.
