You know I wasn't sure about the look of the headlights when I first seen pictures. Now that I've seen some good pictures of it I take that thought back. It's a sharp looking machine. Very nice!
I think it will be a better seller for me then the Mongoose 300. The Mongoose is a good machine, just the 2WD thing doesn't fly around here unless it's a 450 racer.
Have you had a chance to try one out on a PDI?

i've got one here in red. it's just had the 1000km service and is run in with the throttle opened up. it had a lock screw to prevent full throttle for the run-in.
4wd is great fun and quite useful but i find the rwd is more entertaining to ride on lose surface tracks.
we just picked up a snow plow for the winter, so we can use it to clear the drive and road. can't wait to get that out the box and have a play.
i thought it would be faster than it is. flatout on a track i can't get over 90kph, same on the road.
the ride is great and i find it much easier than the old barossa250 to control but because of the gearbox and extra weight it feels slower than the 250?!
it is streets ahead of our old (2005) barossa 250 quaterback with much better brakes, suspension and handling. however it feels slower to build speed than the 250 with similar top ends.
i looked it up and the 250 had 18hp with 19 for the 400 kymco. the torque was only 16lbs for the barossa where the maxxer 400 has 32.
any tips for making my quad bike riding more fun? and/or faster?

CLutch kit will help with the getting up to speed. It could rob a little off the top. You have to give alittle to get a little. As for top speed 90 KPH is good for an offroad 4x4. Most big Honda's don't even get that kind of speed. I never heard of the brand on your old quad. Where was it made?

after googling it, Taiwan.
www.barossa-motor.com
weirdly enough untill the showroom we got ours from, i'd never heard of kymco either. not big in france yet.
the kymco has got an auto box on it so i don't think there is a clutch?? not one the rider can use anyway.
just read another review that says it has 26hp? hmm i wonder what it really has. i'm running it on 95ron unleaded fuel.

The MAXXER 400 handels very well. Here in Germany most people ride onroad - offroad is forbidden in most areas (99% ). The chassis was made therefore wider. Working together with the IRS it is a nice Quad from my first testing. The engine allows about 50 mph (flat testing area). But it is not a rocket. Clutch kit would be nice.
Hopefully I can testride the new 450 Maxxer soon. It#s having some mor ponies
