What do you think is the best all around tire for the outlanders.

I have had good luck with the mudlite XTR's.. They perform well in everything i throw at them.. Also ride and wear really good.

I have heard Zillas are great but I haven't tried them myself. The XTR's are getting bad reports. One friend has a major mid speed wobble due to them being poorly balanced. I have a leaking bead on my XTR's and so does one other friend. My XTR's also have a high speed wobble but I'm not going over 70 too often anyway.
My opinion is that there are better tires out there. I won't buy them again.

He is a Sure way to fix that leaky bead.
Bust down the tire on the bead side that is leaking, take a bottle of Slime and with a rag, coat the entire bead with Slime, reset the bead. You shouldn't have anymore leaking bead problems.

I stopped running slime in my Tires, the Slime does work for small puctures but it is so messy to deal with at a tire change.
For the wobbies if I have any, I just balance the tire/wheel as I have a small tire/wheel balancer I picked up for $50, works great. I use the stick-on weights.
I noticed that Can-am also used the stick-on weights on the stock wheels on my Outlander.

For what I ride, Maxxis Bighorn's work for me. From soft coal silt, to hard packed trails, snow, and rocks, and the occasional mud pit I usually steer away from . It wasn't too long after getting the CanAm I got a set. I did the same with the Rincon, with in a few weeks I had bighorns on it.
That Kodiak I had replaced stock tires shortly after I bought it with Cheng Shin 828's a 2 ply tire because I needed something. Stockers were shot after i went somewhere I shouldn't have, boobie trapped trail, multi plugs in each tire. It wasn't till late in the game I got a set of bighorns for it. Wisest choice I ever made, I'm hooked on them ever since.
I keep wanting to try something like the Swamp Lites, or 589's, but end up getting horns.

Bighorns are the way to go. I just got some a couple weeks ago and these things go though anything and everything. Stock size 25's , it handles better and goes places that I use to have to use 4wdr, and it does it very well. I"m happy with my choice.

No question about it. IMHO, Bighorns are the way to go. I run 26's on both of my 650XT's. Get great mileage out of them too.

Another vote for the horns, and not the 2.0s.

Ok, here's my experience, as limited as it is. The stockers were SMOOTH, all the way to top speed. I put new XTRs on, here's what I experienced so far:
They needed a LOT of lead to balance out. I put them on and went hunting with them. In deep mud, they do the job so much better than the ACTs, it's like night and day. But when I got up to 40mph, they just about shook me off the machine. So, I had them balanced. I've got literally dozens of ounces on them to do the job. I'll probably lose some weights this weekend. I'll find out. The ITP rep is emailing me with "check the toe" type stuff. Really.
Bighorns wouldn't cut the mudstard up here, really. There's absolutely too much mud to put up with a trail tire, no matter how sweet it is. I'd LOVE to get by with Bighorns, I know they're fantastic, they just don't have the tread for the mud.
By the way, how much air are you folks running in your XTRs?
It's funny, when I was shopping for tires, everyone said "XTRs" rock! Well, now I know what they mean!!!!

Mud Bugs work well in most conditions . 27x9x12 on front with no issues , 27x10 or 27x12 will do the job on the rear .

You might take a look at Maxxis 4speeds they are a lot lighter.
