I purchased a Zamp Modular FL-22 beginning of Sept. On the 3rd ride had some issues. The screw which holds the flip up onto the main helmet came undone. I reattached that trail side, but couldn't see (didn't have the readers with me) to attach the clear lens. It was near the end of the ride, so wore it that way till I got home.
I re-attached the lens, but also noticed one side of the flip-up wasn't catching in the close position. After further inspection I seen there were 2 loose screws which hold a plastic plate on that in turn, hold the pin for the flip-up to latch onto.
This is where the fun starts. ZERO Customer Service, besides the run around with emails. Latest reply is helmets are made in China, and they have no parts here in the USA. They want me to pay shipping to send the helmet back, verses them sticking a new pin in a envelope for $.45, cost of a stamp.
I see no sense in contacting the place (online) where I bought it, as this is a warranty issue. Although probably the same place, with a different web address.

Typical sub standard cheap china crap. All the good rum and cigars in Cuba but you dont get any any of that because of a few missiles illegally parked 50yrs ago, but China well know for its communist lies, infractions on human rights and its flooding of the world merchandise market with crap that puts more people in harms way...........Wonder when Ill see the Parliament buildings with a nice bright Walmart sign out front flying the China flag....
Rant done, Sorry
Too bad bout the lid. Thanks for the heads up.
Bob

Well I ended up making my own pin. Had it made up & installed in about an hours time. Working the flip up that screw that came out on the trail, came out again. After looking into why it keeps loosening up, their quality control must've been on vacation that day. The fit of the parts that make up the hinge needed some fine tuning.
I see now I was a sucker for buying this piece of crap! After some lock tight, I know those screws won't come out, RTV sealant on the screws and pins. After seeing the lack of craftsmanship/design of this helmet. Think the only thing this is suitable for wearing on, is a riding mower. Can't see this thing holding up in a crash.
If you're looking for a CHEAP Helmet to wear just for the sake of wearing a helmet, this one is for you. However if you want protection, Stay Away, spend the extra for good helmet.

I agree Kenny. It is the age old question.... What is your brain worth? Buy a quality helmet and protect it for you and your family's sake.

For an inexensive yet comfortable helmet, check out a Bell "Faction" skateboard helmet. Light weight & cool - great in summer
