Caroline Forest Reserve area July29-Aug 3

The Calgary ATV Riders Association are heading to the Caroline area for the August long weekend.

Don and I will head out on Wed to try to secure a large random camping area for the group. Since the Snowmobile Staging area is booked for a wedding again, we will once again ATTEMPT to get the area right at the Forest Reserve Boundary marker. See photo. This is where the pavement ends and there is a gravel road heading north to Swan Lake. Watch for CQS/CAR signage between Rig Street and the Swan Lake turnoff. If an alternate camping location is necessary, we will update this post with a map to that location using Don's remote access.

There are planned rides to Baseline Mountain Fire lookout and some of the other area trails. A small advanced group may again attempt to go to Limestone Mtn. There are many cutlines in the area and lots of places to ride. Phillyis, Tay, Swan Lake and Rig Street are in the general area. Most of the trails are intermediate level with some nasty mud/skeg and steep sections.

There is a Sundre poker rally on Sunday that some folks may be attending.

So, who is planning on joining us?
Club membership is not required, but strongly encouraged. Sounds like it will be a hot and dusty weekend so far.

I will be camping with the family at Burnstick lake during the next week. I will take a drive out to the location on Wed and try to meet up with Don and Todd. What time will you be getting out to the area on Wed?

I will ride when I can on the weekend (and before) but will still be stationed at the lake.
