My son will be going on a 2 day Antelope hunt in Septemper. His choices of rifles are 7mm mag and .270. Obviously the 7mm is overkill. So, if he uses the .270 what grain bullet should he use? I think I can get 100, 110 and 130 grain. 150 would be 2 much I think.

V10,
The 110 or 130 work well and can effectively "reach out and touch" those goats at 250 to 300 yds. The other thing I like about the 270 compared to the 7mm is the lack of a shoulder ripping kick.
Hope he has a great hunt,

I think 7mm is a little over kill and .270 is very respected round. There is a difference in range thou. Antelope can be a very long shot and I would say take both of them both. 150 grain bullet with good coficients out of 7mm or the 270 would be best.

Yes the 270 with a 110 grain would work well.
How did your son do on his hunt?

He ended up using off the shelf Remington 130g ammo. He got one Sunday afternoon. First saw it at around 8am and didn't get a shot until the afternoon. 8 out of 8 tags were filled.
