My engine started clapping more and more as the miles added up on my bike. I ajusted the valves with no results. I started wondering if it could be timing chain rattle so I dicided to check how the automatique chain binder was made. Looked up the diagram on the cd and decided to take the plug, spring out. I though that the plunger would come out but I couldn,t remove it so I took the housing out to find that the binder plunger is suppose to adjust itself with the spring turning the plunger clockwise. In my case the spring did not do it's job so I ajusted them manualy and my tapping noise disapeared. We learn something new every time we work on those quads.I would like to know what is the life spand we can expect on those binders.

Good to know. I would have just chalked it up to the primary clutch rattle we hear so much. Thanks for the tip Ron.
