Just to let you know about after market belts. We installed(independant dealer) a carlisle belt on a outlander 800 and after 1000 kil. the belt disintegrated. He used his bike to ride also put some trac's for winter and pulled a couple of trees in low gear. Now if we only would use it for ridding purpurses maybe we would get better results. Anyone else have feedbacks on there after market belts which don,t seem to be reliable. They are about 2/3 of the oem pricewise but is the investment worth it because when they blow 100 miles in the woods it is not funny.

I have yet to see any aftermarket belt out perform an OEM.
And the results are most of the time just like yours.
Plus I have seen costly damage from an aftermarket belt letting go.
For where I go I would never run nothing but OEM.

What happened with the original belt? Why was it switched? Did the first one disintigrate? I'm very curious on this subject due to not knowing any one first hand that has tryed a aftermarket belt. Maybe I missed some posts on here at some time but all I have read is that they are no good stick to the OEM belts. But out of all those comments I dont belive I have seen any comments from any one that has run a aftermarket belt. Like I said though, it is quite possible that I missed some posts with first hand experiances. I am not saying use/dont use the aftermarket belts, Just interested in the subject.

The original belt was still to spec's but he spun it a bit and he did not want to take a chance with it so he changed it for a carlisle but I quess he should of stiked with his oem one.He finally changeds for a new BRP model and waiting if carlisle will replace his defective one.

The reason I say stick to OEM has nothing to do with postings online.
I have seen them fail out on the trail.
It kind of puts a real damper on everyone's ride when one fails way up in the mountains.

I too have not heard one good thing about aftermarket belts. When I need to replace mine, nothing but a OEM belt will be going in there!

be careful with the CF belts they will wear the face on the sheaves if you wear past the cording - just a heads up to keep and eye on those type belts

i got myself a gator i think it is called out of Canadian tire, about 45 $ and it seems to hold up better than any belt since I bought the machine new...3 replacements from dealers 200-165$(RIP OFF) 90$ for a Carlyle(pardon my spelling it sucks) didn't last and now this gator...all winter tugging and snapping my log chains as well as plowing ...i use my machine like a little tractor...so I would say go to Canadian tire...oh and to guys I know who drive a 400 and a 650 08 bombi's put me on to them and they run ruff too and good results with the crappy tire belts...hope this helps

I used the Crappy Tire Dayco Max on a 400 Scrambler and for the $40 it would last about a season before it started to fray. Been using OEM ever since only having to replace one Grizzly 600 at about 6000 abusive kms.

I have never heard one good thing about aftermarket belts.. Which to me is funny because these same company's make belts for snowmobiles which handle 100+HP, but yet can't make an ATV belt last 1000km. So as far as I'm concerned, i would stick with the OEM belt until something comes out that is superior.
