Province hikes sin taxes

The cost of beer, liquor and cigarettes is going up starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday.

The hike in price was announced Tuesday during the provincial budget.

A carton of cigarettes will increase by $3; beer will cost an extra $1.30 per case of 12; and a bottle of liquor will increase by $2.80.

OMFG, that's gonna cost me....around $150 a year more, and I don't smoke. Fathead Ed's at it again.

It would have been nice to get a little warning. I am heading out to get 8 cases of the lucky lager for the weekend camping trip after work today and a carton of smokes. I guess its going to cost me an extra $13 now.

You would think they could tax vegetables and hiking boots or something instead.

or something none essential like mla limos, or the air Ed breathes or womens wear. Why do they always tax guy stuff?

I wonder if there is any hit on beer making kits. The wife and I just bought two wine making kits to last us most of the year. I haven't made beer yet however.
A buddy of mine does make beer and it's pretty good stuff when done right.

Dam that's going to cost me about $2.60 more this year!!!!!!!
