After driving 16 hours on Saturday and 9 hours on Sunday, I got to my place at about 330PM Sunday afternoon.

It was a terrible trip, with bone chilling cold and a snowstorm in Pa. right after we arrived. I had forgotten how bone chilling cold that cold up in Pa. was!

My sister rode up with me and we spent the first two weeks, 12-15 hours a day, by our mothers hospital bedside, and then I had to make that decision none of us want to make. We opted for "Comfort Care" which meant no revival and basically only a morphine drip to keep Mom out of any pain in her final hours/days. She passed away at 740PM on Friday, March 13th in the Hospice Unit of the hospital and her funeral was last Wednesday.Friday morning I had to meet with her estate attorneys and then first thing Saturday morning I headed back to Texas. My sister had flown back to Texas the day after the funeral with her husband.

I'll go back up in two months for some estate matters, since I am her executor, and then hopefully, that will be that.

Mom had a very good and happy long life here on this earth and I was happy for her the moment she "graduated" and went home with The Lord. She is certainly in a much better place than any of us are right now, with no pain or worries. We'll all see her again someday when we "graduate" too.

I prefer not to think of things like that as a loss, only a temporary seperation.

UB, hope you and your family is doing well through this difficult time.
