i was reading about the restricter what does it do and how do i take it out plus i read that on some of these bikes the hp was set down to like 18 how do i find out if mine is like that and i forgot to tell you but mines a 07 mxu 500 thanks

Mine was between carb and head get it out asap

MXU 300 has restricter?

Ok I've included a link to Pic of a Maxxer 300 Carburator & the part between the head. What part would have the restricter? The only thing I could see is the black tube connecting the carb to the head. Would it have been visible if it had one by just looking at it or would I have to open and look inside. Hey, don't laugh I've got no idea . The MXU300 should look the same... right?

I have wondered and asked the same thing before. I hear a lot of stories of people wheeling their 300 mxu. There is no way in god's green earth I could wheely my wifes 300. That lead me to ask this question a while back.

Ok, I understand that the restrictor is situated in the black part between the carb and the head. Now if I take it apart what will it look like? Is it a piece of plastic or metal...? Does anyone really know?

On my MXU500 restictor looked like black metal washer of aproximately 2" external diameter, 1/2" thick, with 1/2" hole in it.

Thus washer (restrictor) is found in the black part (hose) between the carb and the cylinder head.

does this also apply to the new (2009) maxxer 400? i've got one and it's just run in but it's not as fast as i would have hoped for a 400.
