Its already started...Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, providing a data base of all
Ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your guns!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri, New Jersey, New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina, Tennessee , and Washington .

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

Hawk,

I know we're not supposed to get into anything political in this site, but this is too important to our sport to NOT let stay in here. I went and posted this info on another site too, and then sent copies in e-mails to all on my list. If there is ANY chance that this is for real and could get passed, we need to do all in our power to STOP IT NOW!!

Thanks for letting us know.

I'll be watching this thread, and I won't let it get into a political debate, but as long as it stays an 'information' type thread, I'm going to leave it, as well.

We had the lefties try the same thing with gun registration here in Canada. Costs on implementing it went through the roof. Registration for all which was more of a penalty for law abiding hunters and farmers and the like.
Can't see them making it stand. Some form of pathetic attempt to show the far left that "hey we tried" to shore up votes for next time around. We all have far bigger concerns to contend with now, Canada included.
To be safe you reloaders just might want to buy up your favorite load supplys though.
Hunting with factory loads ain't much fun.

Thats the point Billy....we DO appreciate what we have and we can't let the minority of "anti's" take our rights away. Gotta make a stand!

I don't know how you guys put up with the restrictions over there...

Exactly. You guys need to fight. The nice thing is there are enough Americans that are willing to stand up and fight. Hopefully they do so.

Over the next few years especially, this and other very serious attempts will probably be made against all facets of our sport of shooting and firearms. We must remain vigilant about pending US legislation such as this and IMMEDIATELY ALERT everyone we can, as Desert Hawk has done, when we learn of POSSIBLE pending action like this.

I have VERY STRONG opinions as to why legislation attempts like this will probably continue to happen, but this is not the forum to express those opinions by me, or anyone else on this site, due to site rules. We definitely need however, to keep an eye on what happens regarding this pending legislation in the states mentioned and members in those states need to write e-mails and letters to the proper persons in their particular states. My state, Texas, is not on the list but we ALL must remain cognizant of what's happening in other states, for own own good, and the good of our sport overall.

How do you say this with out being very political:

1. I support for the NRA because it is one those Pro-Hunting/Shooting Groups that support concealed carry laws in over 30 states.

2. There will be increase ammuntion taxes in the future and most likely the excuse to, "support conservation" probably some time -rather quickly after Jan 20, 2009. This only a guess

3. I am unsure how long the technology development of engraving ammuntion might take. We will see if engaving happens because there are alot of hunters that hate higher prices without a reason.

RedneckRon,

My concern Ron is that, yes, it will be dificult to moniter a program like this and to actually regulate it to any degree, As has been stated previously by a poster, a fine example will be, how will they know about handloads and what anyone does in their own home? This then leads to stricter enforcement requirements by way of more regulation though more laws, thus the REAL reason for this pathetically stupid one to begin with.

The point is the "lefties" will make you get rid of your ammo, or create a law in which you are then "made" into being a criminal for the mere fact that you have in your possession ammo that doesn't meet their criteria.

Thats how they work....if they can't out vote you or prove you are a bad person.........as they define, they simply "outlaw" you and create criminals to suit their sick views.

So from here on out.........you see something that needs to posting UB.....etc...let me know. We will post it front page or email alert etc....whatever it takes to get the message out.
