Here is a place to list your favorite recipe to share for others. It doesn't matter if it is a HOME or CAMPING setup.......but share your favorite for all to enjoy and of course get credit Wink

I'll start by posting two of my favorite meals:

Weasel's Chili:

1lbs Hamburger (preferable Nebraska Ground Beef Wink )
1 Onion chopped up
1 Green Pepper chopped up
1 Lrg Can of Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 Lrg Can of Chili Beans
1 Lrg Can diced Tomatoes
1 Small can of either: Tomato Sauce or Medium sized Tomato Paste (if you use PASTE, you add about 2 to 3 cans of water with it)
1 Packet Hot Chili Powder
1 Packet Medium Chili Powder

Cooking instructions:

Chop up Onion while Hamburger is cooking and then add onions to hamburger. Then add other ingredients bring to a boil and continue to stir......once at boil allow to simmer for 1hr at low while continually stirring every 10 minutes. Can be cooked at the campfire or at home.....!

Once done, you are ready to go. Is great with:

Corn Bread
Oyster Crackers
Cheese

I'll add more later and look forward to hearing some of your favorites,

Weasel

saute' white tail back strap with onions.

garlic salt or some other thing like lowery's seasoning salt "johnny's" seasoning salt. type thing. your favorite.

butter in a frying pan get pan hot and slice the back strap up into medalions. fry with onions remove from heat eat with bread and butter. "home made" breat would be best.

simple as all get out and IMO nothing better or mouth watering. probably work with moose too never done it though.

The meal for two I like the best while out hunting
1 paper bag
4 each spruce hens
1 cup flower
1 cup butter
Salt, pepper and garlic to taste
Soak spruce hens in cold salt water for 12 hrs (that includes wings and legs)
Put flower, salt, Pepper and garlic in paper bag and shake well then put all of spruce hen and paper bag and shake. In fry pan melt butter over medium heat, (southern fry) when hot add spruce hen and cook until done. Use drippings and butter to make gravy (leave wings and legs for giblets in the gravy) I usually serve with potatoes and corn but it will go well with just about anything you like.

79renegade's Hunting Hobo Pack:

1 square ft of heavy duty Aluminum foil

1/2 lbs raw hamburger and spread out in approx 1 inch thick circle in center of foil

Now add thin sliced carrots, potatoes, onions, a pad of butter, salt, pepper & garlic if you like garlic

Wrap tightly and freeze until hunting trip

Once your trip begins the hobo pack can stay out and let thaw as they are used to give you an initial meal once you reach your hunting camp.

Once at camp they will be mostly thawed but even if not here is how you cook them.

Start a fire and allow it to burn an create coals. It can be cooked on open flames but it is better if you sit it in a bed of hot coals. Once in the hot coals allow to cook for 30 to 45 minutes. This is a slow cooked meal designed to cook while you setup camp and feed one person. So figure one hobo pack per person and enjoy.

Hamburger casserole:

4 medium potatoes
1/2 white onion
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of vegetable beef soup
1 lb of ground beef

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. cut up potatoes and onion and put in bottom of 2 qt casserole dish. Spread can of vege beef soup over top of them. Spread can of cream of mushroom soup over that. Then crumble hamburger over top of that. Put lid on and put in oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not open lid.

This is one of our favorites and it is so easy!! Enjoy

See a grouse ( us rednecks call them partridge ) Put bead of shotgun about one inch over its head , squeeze trigger . Step on both wings and pull on the feet . Voila ,now you have a clean breast and just twist off the wings . Slice breast into thin fillets and pepper both sides of fillets . Melt margarine in skillet and add fillets . It's cooked when fillets are white all the way through . Put between two slices of bread and chow down .
