I bought and installed the CT hand warmers and thumb warmer. The only thing that still works right on my POPO.
Bob would Gwen mind riding in a Jeep? As of today the 8 NOV looks good.

They charged about 1 hour or $100 I think it wouldn't be that hard after I got it back and seen what all was involved, I just didn't have time and they were doing some work on it anyway.

thay are easy to install just follow the instructions most new quads have a aux voltage wire for accesories you just have to find it.i like to solder my connections rather than use the cheap hardware they give you.there is only 2 wires to hook up ground & pos.

Just a friendly heads up to those of you heading out for the ride Nov 8th.

Be prepared with Chainsaws.

I drove the truck up to Margaret Lake yesterday to run the dogs and do some fishing. From 4 corners to the lake I had to cut up no less that 20 trees on the way there and on the way back, that had fallen across the trail. On my way in I passed two trucks coming out, judging by the trails and the way the trees had fallen I am certain that they fell after the trucks went through. As there were also trees I had to cut up on the way out. There was a heck of a wind yesterday.

The trail going North from Margaret Lake was completely blocked so since it is a quad trail only, I cut only enough room for a quad to get by however you can see more trees across the trail further up.

Also please note when you get to the lake there are some fairly large trees that are in need of falling. They are north of the campfire area, and leaning north. They have blown over and are resting against their friends. Hopefully the will fall completely before anyone else gets there. I wasn't going to fall them by myself.

Also between 4 corners and the turn to the falls the bank washout is getting worse. Two smaller trees fell here so I cut then fairly low to the ground and put them in the washout so they will get your attention as you drive by. I'd hate to see a truck drop in the hold and roll down the bank.

There is lots of room now to drive safely around it.

Those are my two cents do with them as you will!

SlickRock, thanks for the heads up on the windfall. We typically do a pre-ride the weekend before to clean up the trees across the trail. It sounds like we might have more than a day's work to do. That bank washout on the river trail is getting very dangerous, and it is a long ways down! Maybe we need to work on re-routing the trail 20' into the trees as it will only get worse over time.

I have done this once already, but can't seem to find where the post went, so I hope this does not end up a double post.

Anyway, my family and I moved to Airdrie just over a year ago and we haven't managed to do much on our quads since. We are joined up with the CQS and am now looking at this Nov 8 run as a meet and greet. Unfortunately it may be to cool to talk the wife and kids into this one but I am into it no matter the conditions. However, there does not seem to be a lot of information for someone who knows nothing. So I have some questions:

Is South Ghost an easy place to find? Marked? or just a spot known by locals?
What time does everyone meet up there?
I see there is a BBQ, what do I need to bring, BYOF or a fee of some sort?
What if my wife and kids do decide to come, is that ok? I see some folks seem to be confirming numbers, if my bunch have to commit now they will chicken out.

Also, I have paid my dues for joining the CQS but I have nothing to show for it. I did this online. Is there someway this will be dealt with?

Thanks for joining the club. Your membership card and package will be out to you shortly.
We usually want to be riding be 10:00 AM so that means being at the staging area at 9:00 AM so we will have time to have all the waivers signed and the check in done. The south ghost staging area is the first staging area as you enter into the forest zone on Highway 40 the Forestry Trunk Road from the south after leaving 1A west of Cochrane.

The food and Drinks will be supplied by ATV Frontier and Rocky Developments Ltd.
There will be some door prizes and everyone's name will be entered into the draw.

Don

I'll be there. I'm also bringing my buddy that's storing my quad for me right now. I've also got an item to throw in the door prize collection.

Can those of use who forgot to send in CQS renewals drop off the form+money on the 8th?

Excellent news Rob, of course memberships and renewals will be available at the staging area. Kevin (Burgandy F150 with deck) will bring a number of membership packages so you will not have to wait for it to come via snail mail.
