Dont be sorry. I am just kidding around. I wish our laws were different. My rifle is now mine but I am waiting for the transfer to go through and then I have to call in and get my ATT. That is a authorization to transport. I have a long term one for all my guns but need a temp one so I can take the rifle home. It may go through today depending on how busy they are otherwise I have to wait until next week. If I lived in BC it could take alot longer. I have heard of guys waiting for a month for the permit just to take it home from the gun shop.

Weeeeelll. I finally got this thing out to the range as I have a long distance shooting clinic on saturday. I wanted to prove this one plus make sure my tikka is ready to go. Well the tikka did well as usual. As for the remmi? The rifle was great but the 10x tactical bushnell I put on it sucks the big *beep*. Thought it might be me at first but as soon as I looked through my 5-15 bushnell tactical I knew the scope is a pos. So tomorrow I am going to try and exchange it and pick up a zeiss conquest 6.5-20. No more screwing around!!

Yep it is a rebadged DMPS. I will be making some changes to mine like the stock and grip. Eventually the barrel. Right now I need a good chunk of glass on the top tomorrow. But it is fun to shoot.

There any conversions to covert the mini-14 to this type of rifle?

Ron, you can go to the Clark Custom website, and order an 'accurizer' for a Mini-14, it cut the group size of my Mini to less than half the size without it, and there are all kinds of aftermarket stocks for it. I switched mine over to a synthetic stock, and no longer have vertical 'stringing' as the barrell heats up like I used to.
Oh, and if you have a Mini-14, and want to get large capacity magazines for it, the Ruger website is having a sale, $10 off each for new Ruger factory 20 round mags. Still not real cheap, but these are the real deal.

Yep tons of things for the mini. While not known for being accurate I would love to find a cheap one for 7.62x39mm. Ammo in that caliber is so cheap now.

Actually, with the Clark accurizer, or whatever it is called, I feel pretty confident I could hit a snuff can 8 or 9 out of 10 times at 150 yards.

Pretty good. What caliber do you have? .223?

Yes, a .223 in stainless. They tell me the blued ones do just a little better.

Talked to a buddy of mine who put the addition on the end of the barrell of his blued Mini-14. With the right handloads, he can shoot a 2-shot group at 100 yards where all 3 holes are touching. He calls it a cloverleaf, because it looks like a little 3-leaf clover.
Pricey, but if you already have a Mini-14 (not sure if they make one for the Mini-30) it can really make a shooter out of it.
I have heard results from pretty good to astronomical with the accurizer, but only know of 4-5 people with one.
