New BF owners:

Some of the Dealers do not know what they are doing & are incorrectly servicing your Brand New BF's, just like mine..

My Engine Oil was overfilled, it was at the top of the dip stick mark, this is a No-No. Now I know why I was smelling fresh oil on my 1st ride a while back, since I took out about 1/3 of a quart of the extra oil, everything now is perfect.

Kawasaki should to fix this simple problem by adjusting the marks on the BF oil dip sticks but until they do, Please check your oil level..

This is the first time ive heard of this issue. I just picked up an 08 BF750 and my oil level is at the top of the hash marks on the dipstick. Is this too high? It agrees with the full mark in the owners manual.

Those are some great video's by the way!! Popcornsmiley

Thanks
JG

Welcome jg4660 to ATVF Newbie
My '08 BF750 owners Manual states the same as the others, "The oil level should be between the "H" (high) and "L" (low) lines on the dipstick".
Be sure to check the oil level after you wipe the dipstick, then screw it back in & then unscrew the dipstick to check the level.(cold engine)

I have a 09' and it is at the top of the marks. No problem yet. It has about 70 hours on it now. I do have a problem with the rear seal leaking though. It is on it's second leaky one now.

Ya know, I was just going to ask about that seal issue on the BF's. I put the BF 750 on my "short list" of quads to look at for my next quad, and I've been reading around. It seems that a lot of folks have this issue with BF's... and continue to have it after they change the seal.

Is this the norm for BF's?

Actually, an overfilled oil level can cause seal leakage. I know it does it in cars, tractors, etc, so I would assume it could do it to an ATV.
The worst thing that can happen with an overful oil condition is oil foaming. This can cause all sorts of problems you don't want to know about.

That's why I thought I would mention it. Didn't want to change the topic.
Sorry!

Overfilling the Brute engine oil means blowing the excess out into your air cleaner box which causes other problems. The Excess oil will always blow out into the air-box.
If you don't check your engine oil after either buying a brand new BF or in for a service, then smell oil while out riding, check your dip stick.
