Went for a ride yesterday and unfortunately I forgot my camera however I did take a few pics this morning when I went to pick up my machine from my buddy's house. Six inch's of snow and some deep mud made for some tough holes to say the least. I spent much of the day pulling people out of the holes than driving through them just for fun! Gotta love good tires.

It was my first real test of the outlander in the deep stuff. I will say that the machine did an amazing job with the 27 inch tri claw and bi claw combo. I was able to make it through holes with relative ease that were sticking up 660 grizzles on 27 and 28 inch mudlites and 589's.

In the slop and on hill climbs where I could use throttle the visco lock did and excellent job, however there was one spot I ended up winching out of that if I would have had a push button locker I could have crawled out of. I had just seen a 02 Polaris 500 go tires up in four feet of water just a few inches from where I was and just didn't feel like having that happen to my bike. With the need for spinning the tires to get the visco lock to pump up I knew that I would have a good chance of having the same fate.

I was the only bomb on the ride and I can say that most were impressed with the ability's of my machine. I didn't side step one single hole and never got stuck because of the mud although in a few of the longer deeper holes I did come close once or twice.

One other thing to note. With these tires, this much power, and my throttle jockey riding style this machine throws a roost like you would not believe. There were a few times when people got a bit to close to me as I was entering a hole and they got covered.

that's some nice nasty mudd. Just got done installing the fender extensions that I bought my dad for his birthday on his Outlander 800. They still could provide more protection but nothing is going to completely protect you from a set of 29.5" outlaws.

That mess is already gone!

After I picked it up I brought it to work were we have a steam cleaner. Took about an hour but the green monster is clean again....and there was only about ten shovel fulls of mud and grass on the floor...hehehe.

Don't wash it keep it as it is because you have a natural camouflage painting on it.If it wouldn't be for your avatar we would have a hard time seeing what colour your bike is. Smile

660kodiak, They all had standard offset aftermarket wheels. That might have contributed to the fact that they were getting stuck as well.

One other big thing that I noticed with the 589's and mudlites was the distinctive lack of side bite. Guys that were running them had a heck of a time climbing out of ruts where with the side lugs on my tires it was relatively easy. I had much more directional control than anybody else on the ride.

One other thing to note. The few quads with 27 inch vamps were able to follow me for the most part although they didn't have the directional control that I did and the 660 grizz with 30 inch lites hit every hole that I did and never got stuck either. Once again though he didn't have the directional control that I did.
