3 weeks ago,I got my thumb in my saw.Only went about 1/2 inch in,but I will never forget.Still healing.I was very lucky.

There is a small electric current running through the blade. If that current is broken, the brake is applied and blade retracts. It happens in 3-5 milliseconds.
