Dealers are getting their limiteds as I type this and those that haven't are getting their shipment confirmations or expecting them soon. The particular dealer I have in my area has one that is sold and has five more pre sold. He is currently going through dealer connect locating more units as the unit has generated more interest than even the camo 650 max.

What are your thoughts about this new unit?
Are the modifications to make it a limited worth the upgrade in cost over an XT Max?
What about the limited wheels?
What about the GPS unit?
What about the stitch two tone seats?
Mudguards?
Two tone grips?
Color - what color would you want to see it in next year?
Stainless Steel Exhaust Cap?

Just curious as I see it the unit is one killer deal for what is being offered over and above a comparable XT Max.

It might be a "deal" down in the U.S. But here in Canada the msrp is over 15 grand..add the tax etc, and its 17+ otd.. Most "blue coller" ATV riders can't justify that much for a quad. It will appeal to some people, but not to me personally.. When I think of an ATV, "luxury" items just aren't on the top of the list since its going to get full of mud anyhow.

Its Kinda like buying an H2 for hard-core off-roading... really nice and truly functional, but you don't want to scratch it!

I can complain about the insane price on this thing all day, and dealers will still have line-ups with people cash in hand!!

They are pricey, but there is definately a market for them. I was talking to my local Can-Am dealer earlier this week and they have pre-sold their initial allotment of LTDs!

Personally, I'm exciting about the new drug thats coming in November/December Wink

Yes the market for them is insane at this point - I thouht OK they would sale their allotment but never in my wildest dreams has a unit brought about more looks and interest than this edition of the outlander - sort of like kids in a candy store and there is only one lollipop if you know what I mean. Especially in the senior rider segment it is drawing the most interest.

Seen one yesterday at the delearship. $16000 CDN. They had "caution" tape around it. Beautiful though. I am not much for colour schemes, but this one caught my eye... If only they would make a 400/500 in the limited.

We were rideing in Upstate NY last week ,and we stopped at the dealer in Malone. The dealer had the 500 the600(650??) the 800 and the 2-up.

I took the can-am 800 for a run and I got to tell ya...I'd switch, if I could afford it.
My buddy walked out the door with the 07green 800 ,winch, bumpers for @ $9 g's. He has the 05 BF 750
There was a couple Dislikes I found ,but that wouldent have stopped me from buying it if I could.
The dealer was saying it would get 100 miles to the tank or better and we all thought he was full of it.
Well he wasent. With 3 miles on it the first 61 mile run used about 2.5 gallon of gas
Backed off at 73mph
Walked away from the BF 750
Ran away from the SP 800
He kind of wimped out on some nasty climbs ,and only stayed in the mud for a minute(new bike jitters)but he's an animal so I figure the next ride he's gonna be getting nuts with it

Goop sounds like your dealer did not order any 800s in his first round if he did not get any already. Most of the 650s and 800s for the year are out already. Something just don't sound right there. If the dealer here has a customer for a bike he doesn't have he uses what is called Dealer Connect and finds the bike and either transfers it to his inventory or does a dealer trade for another bike on his floor. I would inquire as to why he has done neither for you.

Duse I know the 800 will amaze you in a heartbeat for sure.

Isn't it funny how Canadian dealers are always the last on the list for deliveries of new atvs and sleds? I am not trying to say that Canadians should get delivery first over the US, not at all. My point is that Valcourt is only hours from me here in Toronto, but my dealer always gets the shaft. Oddly enough, Central Outboard is the oldest BRP dealer in the world, a Platinum Service Shop, but still has to wait longer then anyone else. Go figure?

As for the LTD, looks very nice. Prices are outrageous of course. On a small side note, I wonder how the Max 800's are doing with respect to heat and extra passenger weight. Are they more prone to heat damage?

good point about the being last when you live the closest - that is wierd. Wonder why they do that looks like you would take care of home first

I have no clue. BRP pulls all kinds of stunts. In 2004, spring, I ordered my MXZX Renegade 600HO SDI sled, special spring order only model. Guess what, it was the last machine off the line and I didn't get it till late November. So here's me making a commitment with money way ahead of the season and my reward was waiting the longest! Guess that is just the breaks. As far as delivery to the US vs. Canada, I think it comes down to the fact that many dealers and customers in Canada are already long time supporters of BRP where as the US still has many emerging markets, so, that being said, I think that BRP probably puts more focus into making sure the new customers are happy first. Old loyalists like us here would buy no matter what. Think of trying to get an old Ford truck fan to switch to a Toyota. You tell him about how great the Toy truck is and then make him wait 5 months for delivery...would make a good impression!
