That's for a 06 frame isn't it?
Well guys I got Bomb's answer for my frame replacement...not under warranty cuz mine was done on Feb 26. They will give me a 05 frame and some small parts I believe....BUT NO COIN FOR LABOUR .......Not bad I figure...better than nuthin. I'll probably just keep my bike as is until I have a problem with the weld. They said the frame costs $1100 ...?? Thanks for encouraging me to call ...50% is better than nuthin....maybe the frame will make a nice art piece hangin in my livingroom....lol.

Thats too bad KK... You said they are going to give you an 05 frame??... I noticed that the labour was only 17hrs.. I thought it would be like 30 or 40.. So judging by that it might be a reasonable task to handle yourself... probably over a weekend with a couple of buddies in a decent garage with a cold Beer fridge...

Yes this is an 06 frame as far as i know... Wildcard said that the 05 frame's were improved so I'm sure many of these part numbers would apply...

my prices may be a little out of whack because i'm sure there is a cost difference betwwen what a warranty job charges and what customers pay over the counter.

.

Ya my dealer looked up the frame exchange and it said something like 14 hrs....not totally correct as there is shop rates which the 17 hrs maybe right.
The beer and buddies thing was done last weekend....with the shocks thing then the frame was noticed ...then pulling the motor and stuff ...welding and putting it back together. Almost 2 days worth of work.
I'll just live with what I got for now...the welded frame could possibly be far better than anything else...lol.
I can't complain too much....it maybe alot of work....but look at the learning experience...lol. I'll know my bike alot better at least...lol.

That's a positive attitude you got there Koolkim. I haven't had the frame crack. But I'm still thinking of welding a steal plate on just to be safe. Got the steal, got the welder, maybe better safe than sorry.

Ya...if I had the time last weekend ...welding pieces of steel the full length of the bottom of the spar frame would have been the cat's as s. Maybe no need of a skid if ya used say 3/16" steel. You'd have to pull the motor and the gas tank to get at the spot on top....say 3hrs taking it out. But just doin the bottom maybe good enough.

That was my plan if I wasn't going to get warranty... get a piece of C-channel, bend it to wrap around the front and weld it to the bottom spar.
