Three weeks and I'm still the only California member on the map? Come on left coasters, where are you at?
I get my trailer tomorrow, and plan to be at Hungry Valley (Gorman) on Sunday if everything checks out and the weather holds.

I have to admit, the satellite pic is a little old. The 4 man tent is now up.
The story behind this module is that CV had been bugging me for a while to do something like it and I was bored stiff with being off sick for 2 straight weeks with whooping cough.
P.S. If you can, I HIGHLY recommend you get re-immunized for adult whooping cough. I had my shot when I was a kid and had no idea adults could get it, but was I in for a suprise. You seriously don't want to go through it. I could see folks dying from it when there were no antibiotics, steroids, codeine laced cough syrups etc.

Once whooping cough takes hold, the coughing patient is at risk of serious complications of coughing, such as vomiting, breaking ribs, passing out, and passing the infection on to others.
"Most of us think of whooping cough as a childhood disease, yet 28 percent of whooping cough cases in the United States is in adults," said Dr. Irwin. "Although most of us were vaccinated against whooping cough when we were children, the older vaccine only gives protection for less than 10 years. Because the older vaccine caused serious side effects when given to older children and adults, it was only given to children. Fortunately, there is a now a new safe and effective whooping cough vaccine that can prevent adults from contracting this disease." |
If you are self employed like I am, spending the few bucks and hour of your time could save you major $ and time. It takes a long time to get over it (several weeks) once it grabs hold.

Some of the satellite image are more than just a little out of date, expecially north of the 49th and outside of the major metro areas. Still gives you a good idea where we are all at! Awesome Ronin keep diggin in the dirt!

You type it in over top of the coordinates after you click the "Update Profile Location Button". You are limited to the number of characters you can use based on your username. The longer your username, the less characters you can type here. It figures out the number and only lets you enter that many.
