He swamped his grizz a bit ago. Took in a lot of water etc into the clutch housing. He started complaing few days later about spitting and sputtering at 80KM/h, the bike will do about 107KM/h.
I said it sounds like the rev limiter... and your clutch is messed. NO way he said. Its the spark plug. So i laughed and went on my way. He tried jetting it, and putting a new plug in not gapped .
I laughed some more and today he was out my place in the country. I said we are taking that thing apart, its your clutch. I dont see how dirt can get in there he said... Suit your self i said. So we took it apart and...

Hey voodoo,
Is the nut that holds on the primary sheave a left hand turn nut? I tried to take mine off and it wouldn't budge. I even jammed an extension to hold the sheave in place but that bugger of a nut wouldn't move. Also, what kind of grease did you use to re-pack the clutch?
Thanks, Veers

Veers, we did exactly what gotagrizz said. About a 6-8 inch 3/8 ext and we used a light dusting of wheel bearing grease. The nut is normal right tight, left loose.

Oh if it makes you nervous jammin something in there on the fins of the housing (ive broke stuff this way) get an air wrench to get it off.

You really should get the Yamaha grease.....and each weight needs between a teaspoon and table spoon of grease each.

Thanks for the tips Voodoo. I'll give her another try when my snorkle kit arrives as I will clean it out again before installing the snorkel. But man the nut on my bike is tight. That's why I thought it might be a LH nut. I'm a pretty big guy 6-2 270lbs and I couldn't budge it. I'm scared of bending the shaft by putting too much torque on it.
