Is the front wd on the 500 cat limited slip? Bud of mine had it in a tight spot & the right side would spin but the left didn't move. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the AWD?

You don't mention what year Cat? If it's a pre 04? then it would be "limited slip" better named "unlimited slip" as none of the manufactures that use these "limited slip" or "posi" type units actually work if front traction is uneven!

In order to actually drive both fronts you need either the Pol type locks or a posative front diff lock which more & more manufacturers are using every year At present Honda is the only company that has absolutly no ATVs that are true four wheel drive.

tell him if he wants to lock it he can either take the ring and pinion gear out of a rear diff and put it the front but then itll always be locked like a spool locker or what i did was swap in a diff off a AC650 or off of the 05 500 cuz the have lockers nad you can lock it or unlock it
