I have posted in many differents atv web site forums and have to say that some of the moderators on the frontier do more baby sitting than any other forums I've been on. I have posted directly in certain forums with complete regaurd to the subject matter at hand and if it's not of the same opinion as the moderator (even though it is in direct reference to the topic at hand) you are ask to leave the forums. I have'nt seen anything like this anywhere else. As long as there is no personal bashing going on I think a little disagreement keeps things alive. I'm not right, you're not right, none of us are at least not 100% of the time. Anyway a little heated debate keeps the mind sharp, well at least as long as it is the opinion of the moderator of the forum.

I've never seen anything as extreme as you represent here on this site. Without specific examples I don't know what to say further.

I haven't been a member here too long but as much as I can remember, I haven't seen anyone actually asked to leave. Even after a pretty heated debate that happened only a month or two ago no one was asked to leave (as far as I know). I have seen people "Choose" to leave, but never seen them asked to leave because of a disagreement with a moderator. I think the moderators are just trying to keep this forum from getting like the NASIOC forum which I'm sure others have heard of. It's probably one of the biggest on the internet and it is DEFINATELY the biggest people bashing forum out there, because the moderator's of that site don't step in. The ones here are just doing their job, "moderating" the posts to keep a generally friendly atmosphere . I think I'll have to agree with Zang on this one.

in the reference here I was'nt talking about being ask to leave the frontier but in a round about way, was ask to leave the forum,,even though the bashing i was doing was on my own quad...and i have seen some over policeing here, i think most of us our adults and personal attacks shouldnt be tolerated but debating whether or not you like a particular brand of quad is up for debate especially if you own the brand you dont like.

From what I have been told the moderators of the forums have thier own forum which is private or regular members of atvf are not able to view. In this forum they are able to discuss any bashing , discrimatory remarks and which members to keep an eye on as far as disciplining them. They do give warnings before removing them from the forums. I do agree, a little less babysitting and more heated discussions would be great.

I believe I've found the thread that Deerslayer is talkin about.Seems OK to me.What is the big deal about "bashing" quads anyway?????If somebody wants to make fun about my KODIAK....whatever.We're only talkin' about bikes here, not someones family or anything.Lighten up.Lewy seems a little bit too biased to be a moderator IMO.Sounds like he got his feelings hurt when Deerslayer was complaining about Polaris. It's a Polaris forum, isn't it????????Does that mean that we can only spew worship about the bikes?????Or is someone afraid that they will lose advertisers???

I disagree on alot of things. I never seen what you stated here on the frontier, other sites yes, but not here. I like a good argument, must be reading the wrong topics.

Yes we do have such an area. Used for as you have stated.

We do our best to keep the flow of topics, on topic. No personal attacks, religious, or political topis are allowed. Why? Simple. They don't pertain to ATV's.
There are plenty of sites on the web that offer these discussions, and your more then welcome to go discuss those topics there.
Sure who doesn't like to read a good heated discussion, but here we try to kep them to a minium. This is a FAMILY orientated web site.
In case anyone has forgotten, you agreed to follow these rules when you signed up here at ATVF.

we are all a bit bias to the brand we ride . i know i sure am . but i have said many times no company builds a bad quad . the customers of today would not buy it with all the great quads that are around . as for loosing advertisers thats definetlt not the case here as we have no adds here .
the only people that are asked to leave here are blaten spamers or comercial advertisers or a few people that refuse to accept that this is a family based forum . we have members of all ages on this site . as for the private forum yes we do have one as does every site i know of . it used to plan the direction and day to day operation of the frontier . most of it would be way to boring to bother the members with . no maderator has the power by his or her self to bann any one . evrything that goes on here is a bit of a democracy . as for lewy being to bias to take a little critasisum (sp) its not the case . i pick on his peelarris and he picks on my booms on a regulare basis .
babysiting is not the term i would use but we do try to keep it G rated and nonoffensive . thats what brought this to be my home on the net . i love the freindly / family type setting here . JMO .
