Also, just past Mayhill on south/right there is Mule deer canyon. There is some good hunting real good hunting there baut watch out for private land there.

Contact the land owner and he will proably give you a key and tell you where they are, on public land they are open to hunt 24/7. Good luck.

Seen plenty of Cow elk and calfs--had one so close to me could have hit it in the nose. The only mule deer I seen alive was a doe, by the road, waving good bye as we were leaving the Gila. We got to know the area a little bit more and seen a lot of kitty cat tracks which I didn't see 3 years ago when I hunted bull elk down there. There is always next year but had a blast with everyone.
