naturally its because Suzuki's are the best machines, and never need service, never need mods, fixing, or any conversation about such things... Happy

I have to agree with shootah & vinny04. I have had really good luck with mine, just the regular maintenance. (No breakdowns) My only complaint is the steering can be ripped out of your hands if not prepared. This usually happens on very steep decent or if the front tire catches something on the trail. Power steering aparently fixes this problem.

are you in full time 3X4 wheel drive? If so a lil burp of the throttle on the downhill will fix that.

Still wrapped with my 450KQ. Just need to get it out of the shed more often.

Cheers Giddy.

I found that with my 700, pretty maintainence free. Scotsman, I ride mine in 2-wheel drive mostly so the feedback thru the handle bars is less. It did have a steering damper on it but the rod broke. I'm going to ride for a while without to see if there is a difference.

Sorry, but I don't know how bliping the throttle after the handlebars have ripped out of your hands is going to help???? Or your back fender has just kissed you a$$ when riding down the trail???
This does not happen very oftern, but when it does, it sure wakes you up & makes you wish you were hanging onto the handle bar tighter.
At first I thought it was the tires. Swapped out 27" Mudlights to ITP 589 to stock tires off Rhino. There was no difference between all 3 tires types. I am now finding out the problem is in the castor angle. (Same problem on the KQ)
I do ride in 2 wheel drive & switch to 4x4 when needed.

How it makes a difference is if you are in 4X4 which is actually 3x4 and going downhill one front tire will grab traction from being pushed.Which results in the handlebars jerking out of your hands, if you burp the throttle, the front tires pull instead of being pushed. If you're in 2x4 it doesn't matter and is probably some other cause. Oh I guess I should of explained that you have to burp the throttle before not after, I thought that would be self evident. Now of course after you're smart reply I really don't care anymore.

Only a suggestion guys, but have you ever checked the toe-in on the steering? It makes a huge difference when it's right.

The King Quads have a notorious difference in their castor angles compared to other brands. This is what causes the quad to jerk out of your hands in certain precarious situations. In the 4 years ive owned this machine, I've had it happen about 5 or 6 times.. once it almost ejected me, and might have caused A LOT of damage.... I've been pondering a solution, and perhaps a steering dampener would be nice, but I havent taken it into any more thought though.. maybe 1 of these days..

Guys, the solution is the castor mod...look in the sticky posts at the top of the Suzuki page for the castor mods...that works. A steering damper helps to compensate, but the castor mod solves it IF you feel you need to. I never did...I just held on.

Apparently I held on too. The rod on the damper has quite a bend in it before it broke off at the end where it threads in. I never noticed any kind of a hit that would do that. I guess the damper worked up to a point.
