For years, I used Turtle Paste Wax on my Auto and Travel Trailers. re: ecx.images-amazon.com/...SS500_.jpg re: Their traditional Wax On / Wax Off stuff. That stuff worked for years and gave my arms / elbows a good work out (which is a good thing). Recently, I tried Turtle "Zip Wax". re: www.turtlewax.com/img/..._4_8_1.jpg Zip Wax is like a syrup and you add some of it to a bucket of water. This stuff is more of a wash / rinse and doesn't last very long. re: It stops beading rain drops after a few days. Thus, I'm now "on the hunt" for a better product. A product that's less cardio intensive (giant laugh) to apply and lasts longer then a few days.

Should I continue with Turtle Wax (Rubbing compound blend) or is there a better product I should research?

What do you recommend?

It last a L O N G time

Diamond Shield bought from a local speed shop. Like a tannish liquid with a marble inside the bottle to mix it up. Put it on the entire vehicle and let it dry for "At least 1-hour". Wipe it off with little residue. Shines like the sun and lasts a long time.

If Mother Nature should play games with you and starts to rain once it's on soaking. No problem, let it dry, and wipe it off. Doesn't matter if you're in direct sunlight or in the garage with this stuff either.

A bit expensive around $25 a quart, that was about 3 years ago, likely doubled by now.

Based on product feeback (from multiple different forums), the majority of folks suggested I focus on 2 main products. Traditional Turtle Wax product (which seems to be widely used Canada) and Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax product (which seems to be widely used in USA). If wondering, the Turtle Wax liquid product is 1/2 the cost of Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax liquid product. Let's hope Meguiar’s is worth this extra cost. Extact products at:

Tonight, I bought a bottle of each and will do 1/2 my vehicle in one product and the other 1/2 my vehicle in the other product. One of those Left Side vs Right side comparison tests. In 3+ months, we'll see which product is best - from my comparison tests. Being a liquid version, I'm sure they both apply with same "cardio intensive" effort. We'll see....

Since my above WAX Product inquire, I waxed my wife's 29ft Travel Trailer and 2 vehicles. Our Travel Trailer is white, our one vehicle is Blue with Black plastic panels and our other vehicle is Berry Red with lower black panels.

For each item, I used Meguiars Cleaner / Wax. re:

Immediately, I noticed this wax smells great. Actually, it doesn't smell like wax a all. It smells like coconut. For a person who doesn't like "wax smell", it was a great first impression. Meguiars wax went on smooth with a damp cloth. Much smoother then the previous Turtle wax (that I used or many previous years). Unlike the Turtle wax, I find Meguiars doesn't stick to black rubber. It clings but can be rubbed off. Turtle wax seems to "lock on" door rubbers and its very hard to get off. Within the deep cracks, Meguiars does NOT build up and dry with a thick green color. It turns clear to slightly white. Turtle wax tends to turn dark green in the deep cracks. And, Meguiars is much more foregiving in the hot sun as well. I find in the hot sun (or left too long), the Turtle wax 'locks in". And its too hard to remove its top layer. To me, Meguiars wax is forgiving in the hot sun / or left too long. At this point in time, not too sure which manual "waxed on" product will last longer. Hopefully 3-6 months - until winter time is over. Only time will tell... But for ease of applying on vehicles, I'll pick Meguiars cleaner / wax bottle again (even at double the price of Turtle wax).

For my future wax sessions, I'll be using Meguiars Cleaner / Wax liquid again. To me, its more "friendlier" and "foregiving" then traditional Turtle Wax.

Seems O.K but expensive $14Aus for 500ml.
Just use it for my helmet.

Update:

Last week, I tried Lucas "Slick Mist Wax" on my other vehicel. My local UAP guy said it was better then all other waxes. Especially since this wax comes in a spray can. re: www.lucasoil.com.au/co...iew/53/95/

I tried that Lucus Mist and personally, I'm now staying away from this stuff. It leaves behind a geasy looking film. If wondering, I spend the next day wiping off that film. Thus, double the time.

To me, this stuff felt like I was spraying / rubbing WD-40 oil onto the paint job. Didn't like the way it went on and didn't like the way it comes off. The vehicles looks great after a rain (re: all water is beaded up) but to me, it was like apply oil onto the vehicle.

Back to "Meguiars Cleaner / Wax liquid" wax. The stuff I should have stayed with.... Lesson learned the hard way....

Zaino Bros. products. If you claybar your vehicle and use their system, all I can say, heck all I've heard ANYONE say is WOW!!!! Stunning stuff, truly.
