From day 1 when I read out the error codes it blinked 41.
Short to ground or something. Anyway it meant something was wrong in the TBAP area.
TBAP "Temperature Barometric Air Pressure" sensor on the intake sleeve between air filter housing and throttle body.

Symptoms are rough low idle, sometimes dying and hard to start up.
But the didn't persist and most of the time it ran perfect.

After some driving around I noticed the wires leading to the TBAP rubbing through. So these were insulated using some tubing and rerouted.
It ran fine for a while and then CODE 41 persisted again.

I noticed the wires seemed to have some damage at the connector and try to push them a little further into the connector.
Problem solved.

It ran fine for a while and the CODE 41 was there again.

So my final hard-core solution was do away with the connector entirely and connect the wires to the TBAP with small single automotive connectors.
You have to grind some of the TBAP connector down to expose the connectors.
Then parabond up the entire connection.

Problem hopefully finally solved. It runs fine now Yellow-biggrin

When I examined the connector I easily pulled out 2 of the 4 wires. The others I pulled the guts out of the connector.
If I had replaced the whole wiring harness I could have had the same problem somewhere else.

@POLARIS
You guys really need to check the wiring connections on the harnesses.

Try Being a Polaris Dealer in Europe Belgium "Brussels Sprouts & Callebout chocolate" with just the repair manual for back-up.
I ordered in a fly-wheel puller 2 months ago, haven't seen that one yet.
So I made one myself.

I asked the importer if he could show me the air-filter on an 850 XP.
He hadn't even taken of the seat and was selling these machines.

We don't get any info or technical training at all!
Just recals are transmitted.

I've found ATV frontier to be a very valuable source of info. Especially on the older Popos.
Though little bastards.
Just like those European Popo dealers. Yellow-rolleyes
