Well, I jump ship and bought that Can-am Outlander 800 a couple of months ago. Sold my Brute 750FI to grizzbob who is now Brutebob.
It only took me 150 miles, almost rolling that Can-am three times in three outings and after last Sundays ride I knew this Outlander just wasn't for me.
I sold it a few hrs ago.
I'll be back on a '09/'10 Brute Force 750 come Spring, very little riding here in the winter months for me anyway plus w/o a 4wheeler I will be able to get all of this other stuff done that never gets done because I am always out riding instead of being home.

I liked my Yammie Grizz, but I am truly impressed with my new Kawai!
I am in the process of learning the offline torque this has
i.e; keeping the front wheels on the ground !

Already been looking for left over '09 Brute 750s in the Lime Green only, they are hard to find, Kawasaki dropped the lime green color for 2010. I had a Lime Green Brute 750 before, before the Lime Green was even available on the Brute 750, as I bought a set of the Team Green plastic's from PBR in late '05. I also owned a '04 Cat LE 650V2 in Lime Green before I bought the '05BF, so it is easy to say that I do like that Color.
I'll know by Monday If I am getting a Team Green 750 now, as I found one in a near by State, at a decent price too, so if he still has it, I'm Buying it..

OK, it is a done deal.
Made the deal a few minutes ago on the 09BF750 Team Green out of Utah.
Weather looks good for me to go and pick it up next Tuesday.

Hey SWBF750
Can i ask what you didnt like about the CanAm to make you come back to Kawi? I originally wanted a CanAm but couldnt justify the extra$$$ and sometimes wonder if i made the right descision. Dont get me wrong... i love my BF and it has never let me down after many hard miles. I just find the ride could use some improvements.
looking forward to hearing about your experience with the CanAm...
Cheers

I can't speak for S.W. but my can-am rode well.........................and thats about all it did well! The darn thing used to overheat when the going got real tough (thats why you buy a quad.........................no?)in my opinion the racks were built well but I found that everything else left alot to be desired.....................................the visco lok.............................................................................do not!! get me started..........You made the right choice (in kawie) if you put it through its paces.

After riding the Brute Force 750s and noticing the improvements of the fine tuning over the yrs of the Brutes by Kawasaki, it was easy for me to compare the Brute to the Superior Outlander and the short comings on the Outlander were more $$$$ to fix it than if I went back to the Brute, for my riding style.
The List is long on the Outlander and some of it is the way the Outlander was designed.
1.My Outlander front tires can not be wider than 8" or you have to go with a aftermarket wheel, the aftermarket wheel will allow a wider tire(9") to clear the tie-rod ends.
2.NO Belly protection on the Outlander and you better protect that frame/under belly for that 1st ride or you may bend the frame(it is very rocky where we ride).
3.For what these Can-ams cost, you think Can-am would fix the poor front springs/shocks, Can-am knows of the problem but all they do to fix it is for you to invest in a $$$ upgrade.
Oil changes, frt oil changes are a bit of a hassle too and the Oil filter is a messy change out.
4.Single brake lever, bad idea for my type of riding, The Outlander takes more hand pressure for the brakes to work and if you need those brakes in a hurry and if you are going down a steep trail fast, all of the weight is transfered to the front and with a noticeable nose dive and too much braking as well goes to the front brakes-talk about a wild ride.
5.The Outlander also is 80 lbs heavier than my Brute and that extra weight can be felt when Riding fast/hard down the trails.
6.I didn't like the handling either, the Outlander would not stay where I pointed it in fast turns, it would push. I was using the same Tire/tire size/and aftermarket wheel on the Outlander as the Brute Force, the Brute Force felt like it was on rails. Powersliding on the Brute is more controllable as well, as the Outlander would not only lift the inside rear wheel off of the ground but the inside front wheel too-not so with the Brute.
I tried different tire pressures, shock adjustments on the Outlander-same result each ride. Every ride that Outlander wanted to roll-over on the fast rides, tried bucking me off of it twice.
7.Steering bump was worst on the Outlander and to fix it would be a $485 Steering Stabilizer upgrade, the Brutes fix is a $159 steering Stabilizer.
The more I read up on the Outlander, the more $$$$ it would take to set it up for my riding style/needs, it was just best for me to get out of the Outlander now instead of later.
I have other minor issues with the Outlander but these were the main ones.
No atv will be perfect or meet everyones needs but if I knew all of the above, I would of Never bought the Outlander in the 1st place.
My feelings are the Can-ams are overpriced, over-rated and all Hype, imo..

Thanks for the reply guys,
I ride with guys that have them and its the old "grass looks greener on the other side" syndrome.
I don’t have enough seat time on one to really form an opinion. I drove the 800XT and after hearing all the hype about how much power it has i was a little disappointed. It had more umph than my 650 but not what i expected. The ride was comfortable but i found the front end way to soft for my ridding style.
I know the frames are extremly weak and cant imagine it has never been addressed! The visco lock is something that needs to get used to and the price is unjustyfiable! I live in Canada and cant afford a 4 wheeler made a few hours away! Whats up with that!
Again... thanks for sharing your dislikes lol.
I know i made the right descision buying a Kawi!
Cheers

For 2010 it looks to me like the Can Am's are actually cheaper than the Kawi's.

Kawasaki 750 is getting up there in the Price sticker but still $600 less than the base Outlander. The Kawie comes with a longer warranty unless c-a has change it for '10 and allot of the above beef's are still in issue.
I'll be installing my Gibson Steering Stabilizer on this 09BF750 on Friday, this time I will take it at each step and write up a article on it here so the rest of you who might want to do this upgrade will have a step-by-step instructions on the Install. It is easy to install.
I also have the replacement Sway-bar bushing upgrade on Order but it was placed on Backorder, it should be in sometime next week, I'm going with the same Kit as in the Write-up and ordered through Jeg's.
