It happened on the road to widowmaker not far from the main road. The group was going around a slow moving off-road truck. The first two quads went around him and I was third.
As I went around him I got to his front fender when he turned into me. I gassed it hoping to escape, but the quad was in 2wd and just spun the back wheels just fishtailing the bike. No Escape.
I remember the hit and going into the the handlebars, but the next thing I remember is being on the ground and seeing the tire of the truck coming for me. The guys riding behind me say I cartwheeled off the quad and on to the ground and under the quad. There was some mention of the quad flipping, but I don't remember what was said about this on scene.
Next thing I remember is as the quad was stopping and I was avoiding truck wheels I actually got myself stood up beside the quad before my legs gave out and I fell. Then the cavalry (mostly riding Can-Ams, weird I know!) arrived. I think I was on the ground for about 45 minutes before the ambulance arrived.
The cold was really bad lying on the frozen ground, but getting up was not an option. Everyone loaned me layers to keep warm, but there was only so much it could do. With the cold came lots of pain and I was pretty rough by the time I got my ambulance ride.
I can't say enough about how good the support was throughout the whole thing. My Father who was the contact I gave the guys on scene was very impressed with the level of support as well and Me and my whole family appreciate all that you guys did, so thanks again!

Hey Glenn, I hope you get better soon, Thats too bad I know another guy basically same thing happened but he ended up with 2 broken wrists and 2 ankles. You can't trust anyone on the trail, never know what the others are gonna do.
I hope the accident wasen't on purpose.
Well get better and we will ride soon
Our ride was awesome the tunes were going and we were moving

Wow! you were lucky that you only have soft tissue injuries, painful as they are. Get well soon and we will see you on the trail.

Heal up soon Glen and we will have to hit some new trails to explore. Our fellow ATVers are great when it comes to taking care of mishaps on the trail. Kudos to everyone who helped out!

Well the verdict for the quad is $1700 in damage. As for me, I am still in physio, but I am back to work..behind a desk though.
Some more developments are that the guy who hit me is a little "hard to find". The phone number he gave is not a valid phone number and the insurance info he gave has not been able to be confirmed by the insurance agency. We are still working on the insurance thing...FINGERS CROSSED!
So no Rebels ride for me.

Sounds like the guy has something to hide. Hope you can "catch" him.

I actually considered what happens if the Grizzly is totalled....and Can-Am did come up as an option. I like the Renegade. If I got one of those imagine how fast I could pinball off the fenders of 3/4 ton trucks!!! Lord knows I could use the cartwheeling practice!

Well the Grizzly has been all patched up. That is really too bad, because I am not in any shape to ride yet. I have been going to physio and the like but improvements are slow. Standing and walking are still a pain, but the one that bothers me most is trying to sleep. I wake up alot through the night, it sucks.
Some interesting insurance 'developments' too. Exactly one day shy of a month after the collision, the 'other party' showed up at his insurance to make a claim...imagine that. He would like for me to pay for the damages to his truck... Apparently, according to what he saw ('Dude, I am so sorry I couldn't see, I just couldn't see!) me and my ATV were already rolling when I slammed into his truck...
Nice, huh??
Glenn.
