Can Can-Am be the Harley Davidson or BMW of the ATV World??? I guess time will tell if there's a bunch of people running out to pay those prices. As I mentioned over on the Quad Squad. They are going to have to price them comparable to the other manufactures. Otherwise they will be nothing but dust collectors in the showrooms. I wonder how many fingers toes and arms the side-by-side will be???
I bring up HD & BMW, as compared to the rice burners, they are a bit much. The owners bought the name, as they can get a comparable Rice burner for way less $$'s.
I guess the Can-Am buyer will give it a lot of thought, do I really need the 800, will the 650 do???

Even Harley-Davidson isn't badly priced with some models. For example, a Victory cruiser motorcycle called the Hammer has a price starting "as low as $20,626". But a Harley Davidson Vrod cruiser motorcycle has a starting price of $14,999. Come on folks, what are you going to buy if you're looking for a cruiser motorcycle, a Harley, or a Polaris for half again more money?
Can Am is out of line with their ATV pricing though. I would love to upgrade my '09 regular Renegade 800 to a '10 Renegade 800 X xc, but I'm just not paying over $12,000 for an ATV. I could by a 1000cc Prowler for almost that price, considering that the Arctic Cat dealer will deal with me, and the Can Am dealer wants full price plus every other fee he can think to add on. Can Am priced themselves right out of a sale on the '10 Renegade X.

I love can-ams to death and there sleds but they are out pricing them selfs for our oconomy they are really no better built than kawie, honda, Kymco etc. Yes i'am a kymco dealer and for 2010 they have some really nice quads to offer. I guess can-am needs to pay for all there marketing some how it's to bad they through msrp #'s like this out there with little margin's to work with for a dealer.

Gotta compare apples to apples. Can-am isn't overpriced at all. You can't compare the price of an XT with bumpers, tires/wheels, hand guards, winch etc. to another brands base model. Compare apples to apples.
Can-am 800XT - $12,899 - has bumpers, winch, hand guards, DPS, tires/wheels.
Arctic Cat Thundercat 1000 LE - $13,499 - has bumpers and winch. No PS, no hand guards, std (bit nice) wheels/tires.
Polaris XP 850 EPS - $12,199 - EPS, no bumpers, no hand guards, std wheels/tires, no bumpers, no winch, just the base model w/ EPS.
I would say that the Can-am is priced pretty competitively in that class, correct?
Here is the 500cc Class, same thing.
Can-am 500XT - $11,099
Arctic Cat 550LE - $10,099 - No PS, no hand guards
Polaris 550 EPS - $10,399 - EPS nothing else.
Yamaha 550 EPS - $11,349 - EPS nothing else.
Honda Rubicon 500 EPS - $9,499 - EPS nothing else (dont bring knife to gun fight.)
Suzuki KQ500 EPS - $10,899 - base model w/ EPS
