Got out for a long overdue ride & 3 mi. in my temp icon started flashing Sad . The fan would not come on at all. I think she 's lettin me know she sat still to long Surprised . Let her cool off & got her home.
Got the book out & bypassed the thermal sensor & the fan runs Smile .
Should I
A. order one from the dealer & change it
B.aftermarket?
C. Open the pouch & check the circuit breaker?
I appreciate any feedback/opinions with my little dilema. icon_ihearu Smile

Found 4 aftermarket (automotive) switches that will fit ....but...
acording to napa, carquest the operating temps are different.

Wells SW526- on at 180 off at 174
Echlin FS147- on 194 ,off 203
Carquest TS148- on at 205 ,off 216
Borgwarner TFS54- on 234,off 245

Polaris 4010161-on 180, off 149

I wasn't comfortable with such variables & opted for the Polaris .

Hope this helps someone. Smile

My 02 SP 700 had a 10 amp breaker in the fan protection circuit. It kept breaking out when I needed it the most. I changed the 10 amp to a 20 amp and never had any trouble since. Happy
