I think you're making the right choice re first machine and cc size. It will get you anywhere the bigger machines will go.
Yamaha makes a great quad if that's your short list. Would be my choice. ... |

But the threats are variable, so enjoy and steward the area each time you ride like it could be your last. That goes for any place in the Y2Y ... |

Anything over 5500ft or north-facing under tree cover will still be snowed in. All of the passes to BC except Deadmans will be impassable, Racehorse usually not passable until mid-June.

I'll say 13", way more near Red Deer.
I've got about 5" fresh on my deck since 5pm today here in Elkford, double that expected tonight. Glad I didn't put my sled away. |
