Canadian topographic maps use UTM. Your settings should be UTM to match the map grid. MGRS is derived from UTM, but UTM is the correct one for the Canadian federal maps.

Get a Garmin Oregon 300 or Colorado 300. Run them on external power on the quad as the backlight is very bright in that fashion. Load up the free Ibycus maps and the Southern Alberta Trail ... |

menu -> setup map -> map setup information...
And then hit the menu button again... it gives the options to show or hide particular map sets (the entire set)... |
