I would suggest you check the helix on the rear clutch to see if it is sticking

If you have a plastic welder you can mend the cover. Other than welding your only choice is to replace the cover as the covers sealing ability may be comprimised due to the structural strength of the ...

Check the stator output and voltage regulator to see if they are putting out the correct voltage. BTW moving this considering a DS650 is a Bombardier/CanAm

be careful with the CF belts they will wear the face on the sheaves if you wear past the cording - just a heads up to keep and eye on those type belts

have you checked all the connections, try checking the crank sensor, coil, grounds

Since 05 they have updated

the frame - the older ones cracked near the rear suspension 04s and early 05s if I remember correctly
fuel system - updated to EFI
Visco Lok changed somewhat
Cosmetics ...

Could be the varnish has come off the shifting indicator post on the side of the engine and they have shorted. There was a service bulleting but I forget the exact nature I know those had to be revarn ...
